Dealer Troy Schmidt, Red Dragon Pottery: Ceramics

Using a full-size potter's wheel, IGMA Fellow Troy Schmidt creates 1:12 scale hand-thrown pottery from fine English porcelain. In addition to miniature ceramics, he makes life-size pottery and teaches beginning ceramic classes. Always exploring and experimenting, his exciting glazes come in a wide range of unique colors. Troy randomly wrapped a thread of soft clay around a vase with a simple form to add interest. 1:12 scale.
Here is Troy with a dragon sculpture. He has made many dragon sculptures over the years but this is the largest one.
Pilgrim bottle, about 12-inches tall. The form dates back over 1000 years and his version was inspired by ceramic flasks that were once common in tombs in northern China.

Original design from 1999 shows Mother Nature creating woman in her own image, with a new glaze from 2014. About 12-inches in diameter.
